Atelier Quinze-Vingts has completed the elegant transformation of a 108 m² Parisian apartment, where light, wood and craftsmanship redefine contemporary living.
In the heart of the 6th arrondissement, the architects reimagined a Haussmannian apartment by giving it a new center of gravity: the kitchen as the epicenter of family and social life.
A stained glass window as poetic threshold From the moment one enters, the tone is set: a contemporary stained glass window, designed by La Couleur du Verre from colored glass whose raw texture dictates its hues, diffuses a vibrant light. It roots the apartment in the Parisian tradition of master glassmakers while conferring a unique and almost pictorial identity.
A timber-framed kitchen as domestic stage At the core of the plan, the kitchen is wrapped in a solid-wood glazed partition, crafted by Paris-based carpenter FPC. More than a functional element, this bespoke structure is a true piece of architecture: it defines, frames, connects and stages. Open to the living room, it balances transparency with intimacy. Around a large oak table, it becomes the beating heart of the apartment, a place of gathering and conviviality.
Between heritage and modernity The living room’s moldings, fireplace and cornices engage in dialogue with clean lines and contemporary materials. Vibrant colors in selected furniture pieces and artworks punctuate the space, affirming an eclectic yet harmonious style.
Bespoke domesticity The main bedroom integrates a custom wood-and-metal wardrobe and library desk, shaping a refined atmosphere conducive to both work and rest. The bathroom, carved in pale stone, favors pure lines and a soft, soothing light.
The elegance of a measured budget This project demonstrates that a renovation can be both ambitious and restrained. Its strength lies in the coherence of details, in the dialogue between craftsmanship and architecture, and in the ability to transform economic constraints into stylistic choices.
A timeless Parisian atmosphere Atelier Quinze-Vingts proposes here more than a technical renovation: an experience of Parisian art de vivre, where heritage, design and emotion intertwine. Text description by the architects.
