Energy Transformation of a Semi-Detached Villa | St-Légier-La Chiésaz, Switzerland | 2020
[Madeleine Architectes]

Located at the edge of a wooded hillside in St-Légier-La Chiésaz, this energy-efficient renovation project is part of a district of twin villas, occupying half of one of these buildings.

Echoing its situation, a visuo-haptic dialogue is initiated between a new cork skin and the existing roughcast of its twin, between the smooth and the rough, between the vegetal and the mineral.

A light metal mesh completes the transformation and replaces the prefabricated concrete parapets which, when sawn, are reused for garden landscaping.Text description by the architects.
