Transformation of a glazier’s workshop into new office facilities for the production company Blonde Inc. The project began with a careful rethinking of plan and flow: opening up the structure to create a flexible, open workspace connected to social areas, complemented by smaller enclosed rooms for meetings and focus. New walls follow the rhythm of the original structure, reinforcing continuity between old and new.
Materiality plays a central role. Aerated concrete adds weight and permanence, while custom-made galvanized steel ladders, inspired by pool ladders, link levels with a playful yet robust presence. Blue and grey tones permeate the interiors, echoing the client’s visual identity.
A series of bespoke furniture pieces were developed as integral parts of the architecture. Their monolithic forms draw directly from the proportions of the existing column-truss structure, while their materiality of blue pigmented concrete, creates a distinct atmosphere. Each piece is both functional and sculptural, anchoring the open plan and reinforcing the identity of the space. Text description by the architects.
