[Studio Anton Hendrik Denys + Steen Architecten]

In collaboration with designer Anton Hendrik Denys we transformed a 3500m2 uninspired office building to a sparkling meeting hub for the ICT sector, bringing together all functionalities that revolve around dialogue, communication and human contact. Moving the space from cold to warm, industrial to personal, we had to strip it completely and reimagine from the outside in.

The scope of the project ranged from landscaping to upholstery, the outside area was redrawn, the inside structure refurbished and both interior elements and furniture objects selected to support the new function of the building.

To add a homely feeling, Anton and our team preferred to work with a variety of colors and patterns and a lot of tactility in the material choices such as felt ceilings, textiles in the furniture and woodfibre elements. To keep a level of professionalism this was contrasted with concrete floors, glass tables and white metalwork.

It was a careful search for balance between function and aesthetics, that aligned perfectly with the project team, allowing enough space for design into our technical research and management, looking for creative solutions to technical challenges and vice versa.
